I have over 15 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, natural language processing, bioinformatics, R, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and cloud computing. I have a PhD in Bioinformatics with a minor in Predictive Analytics from Georgia Tech. I am currently the Director of Data Science at a global pharmaceutical company where I am involved with hiring, interviewing, project management and leading data science initiatives (data visualization, machine learning, inferential statistics, and developing dashboards) to address the business needs. I was previously an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Emory University where I was involved with developing predictive models and data visualization & integration tools for large-scale biomedical data. I have experience in hiring and mentoring in both industry and academic settings. I have been mentoring graduate students, postdocs, interns, and data scientists/analysts since 2010.
