Having a good resume on hand when going on the job hunt is crucial, and will make your search a lot easier. Even if you're not looking for a new position right now, having an up-to-date CV that sells your experience to future potential employers is always good to have.
In this session, a mentor with hiring experience will go over your CV and give you actionable points on how to improve it. You will be able to follow along and make these changes right away, hopefully leaving you with a top-notch CV at the end of the sessions.
I've reviewed hundreds of resumes as a hiring manager, career advisor in graduate school, admissions interviewer in graduate school, and as an executive coach. My focus is not on the design of the resume or CV but on the content.
Does it tell a compelling story about your experience? Does it accurately reflect the breadth and depth of your experience? Does it make the reviewer want to reach out for an interview?
Depending on the state of the draft that you send me before the session and the feedback I provide, there may be time to share some brief strategies that can be integrated into your job hunt.
