Having a good resume on hand when going on the job hunt is crucial, and will make your search a lot easier. Even if you're not looking for a new position right now, having an up-to-date CV that sells your experience to future potential employers is always good to have.
In this session, a mentor with hiring experience will go over your CV and give you actionable points on how to improve it. You will be able to follow along and make these changes right away, hopefully leaving you with a top-notch CV at the end of the sessions.
Hi there! I'm Brian, a software engineering leader with over 5 years experience hiring at several different levels ranging from junior developer to director. I've also worked on the hiring process at multiple stages including sourcing candidates, running screening interviews, technical interviews and hiring manager decisions so I know what to look for in a resume / CV.
If you choose to do a review with me, we'll generally do the following:
- talk about the job(s) you're applying for
- review the structure of your resume
- refine the wording of your past experience / education
- look for / correct any grammatical errors
