Hey! I’m Josh Etsenake, I’ve been in software engineering officially for over 6 years since I graduated. But I’ve been working with computers for most of my life, starting with learning how to fix and upgrade hardware. Fast forward a couple years, I’m working at Fullscript as an engineering leader in the tech lead(aka dev manager role) where I manage a team of 4 devs(with a PM and designer) who report to me. My goal is to level up developers on my team, optimizing quality, quantity and speed of our project deliverables. I’m passionate about intentional career growth, and making sure every voice is heard when facilitating technical conversations.
I’ve been mentoring for 2+ years within and outside my current workplace. I’m also the recipient of the UBC(University of British Colombia) Co-op supervisor recognition from my time mentoring a co-op I worked with.
I’m also really passionate about mentoring peers on how to have tough conversations and giving feedback.
