About

I am a 3rd-year Ph.D. advisee of Dr. Amit P. Sheth at Kno.e.sis Center working on National Institute of Health (NIH) and National Science Foundation (NSF) funded projects involving deep machine learning, knowledge engineering, natural language processing, ontology development, and information retrieval with specific applications to healthcare. I have been a "data science for social good" fellow with the University of Chicago working on challenges concerning patient and primary doctor matchmaking. I co-founded a start-up in intelligent financial advising using state-of-the-art chatbot technology and other interdisciplinary approaches to make people disciplined with their expenses and stay clear of any regrettable money mistakes. This year, I will be an AI Fellow and Research Scientist at Dataminr.
In the recent past, I have organized a programming challenge as a companion of the premier computer science conference; The Web Conference 2018. The conference was brought in participation from teams working on Named Entity Recognition and Relation Extraction Tasks; two fundamental problems in natural language understanding.
As a researcher in Kno.e.sis Center, I am an active member of Kno.e.sis Knowledge Graph Development team, Alchemy Knowledge Graph team, and have been mentoring graduate students in computer science. Further, at Kno.e.sis, I have created an interdisciplinary team of researchers, comprising of clinical psychiatrists, cognitive scientists, psychologists, and computer scientist to address challenges in Mental Health and Social Media.
My mentorship is research oriented with the focus towards enhancing the capabilities of mentees and improve collaboration skills. Further, I have been a teaching assistant for artificial intelligence, programming languages, and operating system courses both in India and the United States which enhanced my understanding of diverse generational needs.
