For employers
A short overview for managers and HR. What MentorCruise is, who the mentors are, what it costs, and how to get an employee (or a whole team) started.
MentorCruise is an external mentorship platform. We connect professionals with vetted mentors from leading companies for ongoing 1:1 support across engineering, product, design, AI, data, leadership and career development. Since 2018, we've worked with over 50,000 mentees and the teams that support them.
Our mentors are vetted practitioners. Unlike most coaching platforms, they are not full time coaches but active industry experts who have built products, led teams and shipped real work. That means employees get advice that maps to what the job actually looks like today, not generic career theory.
Our role is to make discovery easy, provide great matches and guarantee the quality of the mentors on the platform. Mentors are rated 4.9 out of 5 on average and less than 5% of applicants make it onto the platform.
MentorCruise does not provide a curriculum or coursework. Instead, mentors work individually with mentees (or together with team leads) to identify growth goals and work towards them. Common goals include:
On average, mentees reach their goals in half the time they would on their own or mentored internally. The average mentorship runs around 4 months, and mentees consistently report meaningful gains in skills, confidence and communication.
All fees are transparently displayed on the platform. A full mentorship, including a weekly call and chat access to the mentor between sessions, ranges from $300 to $600 per month with a well rated mentor.
There are no hidden fees. On top of subscriptions, one off calls can be booked for a single fee. There is no extended contract or lock in. Each mentor offers a 7 day free trial and mentorships can be cancelled with one click.
There are a few different ways to roll this out, whether you're supporting a single employee, a small group, or your whole team.
MentorCruise is fully self serve. Employees can sign up and pick a mentor right now through our open marketplace. From their dashboard, they can generate invoices to send to finance for reimbursement. Many teams prefer this for its simplicity, and our invoices are valid globally.
Payment links can also be shared directly, so a manager or HR can put in the billing info on the employee's behalf.
If you'd rather your employees work against a fixed budget, the platform supports prepaid top ups and credits for mentorships and sessions. Get in touch with our sales team and they'll issue credit codes in bulk.
For teams of 10 or more, we offer hands on help with structuring the program, picking suitable mentors, and access to our Team Hub. The Team Hub is one place to monitor ongoing mentorships, manage budgets and keep all resources together. Get in touch with our customer success team to get started.
Happy to walk you through how teams typically roll this out, what it costs, and what makes sense for your situation. No pressure either way.
