About

I'm an engineering leader with 15+ years of experience specializing in Data Platforms, Distributed Systems, Cloud Computing and Machine Learning. I have a proven track record of driving development of innovative projects from inception to launch. I've made numerous impactful contributions to Facebook/Meta and Google Infrastructure (FBEtl, Stream Processing, Cosco, Procella, Dataproc, Dataplex) and Apache open source projects (Pig, Parquet, Spark, Avro, Hadoop, Hive). I'm a member of PMC for Apache Pig and Apache Parquet projects.

In my current role at Google, I lead a team of managers and engineers to build next gen engine runtime for BigQuery with investments in newer architectures (BI Engine), eval engine (Superluminal), and storage (Capacitor file format).

Previously at Apple, as the Head of Privacy Preserving Lakehouse, I led a team of managers and engineers who build and manage the Data and ML platform for AI/ML products and research. The platform built enabled data management for Product Analytics, ML and AI model training.
