My passion for mentoring run's deep. It all started with the business I created when I was 13: teaching computer skills to adults in my community. And its a thread I continue pulling today, managing a small team while still being an active individual contributor.
My career started in fintech, where I honed a unique set of skills around low latency and garbage free java programming. I also built systems that had to be resilient and scalable. But the most valuable skill I learned was how to both teach myself and others deeply technical skills. These constraints have helped me understand not only how to design systems and code, but how to make difficult tradeoffs.
