I'm good at stepping out of my comfort zone. I got my bachelor's and master's degrees in plant pathology and microbiology. Then I switched to bioinformatics and studied a PhD in computational biology. Then I changed the field from computational biology to data science.

I can share how I learned to code and entered the field of data science. I'm also happy to share the lessons, considerations and guides during the process.

I am a senior data scientist at C3.ai (NYSE: AI), a publicly-traded tech company in Bay Area, US. I have hands-on experiences in ML (7 years) and DL (5 years) using Python (7 years). I build end-to-end DS/ML products for internal projects and external customers. As a senior role, I lead the junior data scientists and communicate across software engineers, project managers, product managers, and UI designers. I also write weekly reports to executives and explain DS approaches to customers and stakeholder.

From a PhD program to a tech company, I have developed predictive models for various types of data including tabular data, images, text, graph, and biological high-dimensional data and have ranked as top 3.0% (5,484/179,945) in Kaggle, the largest machine learning competition platform in the world.
