I have over 8 years experience with Go, and over 30 years experience programming. I'm the author/maintainer of a couple Go open source projects, and contribute regularly to a number of others. I produce educational Go material on my YouTube channel, Boldly Go, and am the host of the weekly Go podcast, Cup o' Go.
I was introduced to the concept of computer programming at the age of 8, with my dad's Commodore 64 and BASIC. I've been hooked ever since.
For most of the past decade, I've been focused on writing clean, readable, and extendible Go code. I'm the author and maintainer of a popular Go library (kivik.io), and contributor to a large number of other open source projects.
Over the years, I have come to value code readability and intuitiveness very highly. I've mentored a number of Go developers both on the job, and over the Internet, including indirectly through channels such as StackOverflow, and my YouTube channel all about Go: Boldly Go!
I've been a team lead, an Engineering Manager, and VP of Engineering, mentoring and coaching all levels of software developers.
