About

You're sending applications and getting silence. Or you're a strong designer who keeps hearing you need more "product thinking" or "strategy," and nobody will tell you what that actually means. Your work is good, but it isn't landing the way it should.

I've been designing and leading design for 20 years, and I currently lead a UX team at YouTube. Before that, I managed design at Meta for 6 years, working on Reels, Feed and Stories creation, and was the first design lead for Oculus Social. At Google, I designed Android's first fingerprint unlock and led UX for Google Discover. At Netflix, I led the redesign of the Netflix.com video player and drove the first profiles A/B test.

For the last decade I've been the one reviewing portfolios, running design interviews, and helping decide who gets hired and promoted. I know what separates a case study that gets a yes from one that gets skipped, and I'll tell you honestly which one yours is.

What I help with:

Your portfolio isn't getting responses. I'll show you what a hiring manager sees in the first two minutes, and help you rewrite each case study so it leads with the problem and your thinking, not just polished screens.
You freeze in interviews, or they go nowhere. Mock portfolio presentations, cross-functional and behavioral rounds, and live design critique, with direct feedback afterward.
You're stuck at the same level. What "senior" and "staff" actually mean in practice, how to show judgment when things are ambiguous, and how to write a promo case that reads as impact, not effort.
Product thinking and hypotheses. How to frame your work as a problem, a hypothesis, and a test, tie design decisions to real metrics, and defend them to PMs and engineers. I ran the profiles A/B test at Netflix and worked data and research into decisions at Meta, so we'll use your real projects.

How sessions work: Bring one real artifact (a portfolio, a case study, a resume, a promo doc, or a decision you're struggling to defend). We spend the hour making it better, and you leave with specific edits and a next step. If you send it beforehand, I'll come prepared.

What happens when you start

You tell Loretta your goals. They see exactly what you want to work on before session one.

You meet within days. Loretta reviews your application and books your first session, usually within a day or two.

You leave with a plan. Concrete next steps and a weekly rhythm from your very first week.
