Hello! My name is Semi Koen. I am a Senior Engineering Leader, Technologist, and Technical Author.
I am passionate about sharing my expertise with others and helping them achieve their career goals. With almost 20 years of experience in the tech industry, I have developed a deep understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this field.
After studying Computer Science, I started my career as a Developer, and have since progressed to Senior Developer, Technical Lead, Architect, Engineering Manager, and Engineering Director. Currently, I am an Engineering Executive Director at a global Japanese Securities Bank.
I help companies define and deliver a strategic technology vision and Software Engineers accelerate their career growth. I have been mentoring Engineers starting their career or transitioning to engineering management for several years now through work, and other volunteering or paid channels. The intro session with Semi was excellent. I was expecting a high level chat, but she really took the time to understand what I'm doing and offered practical and actionable advice. She is very focussed and prepared, but also friendly and easy to talk to. I've signed up for regular mentorship with her. Looking forward to it!
