tl;dr ‐ I love building high performing engineering teams while delivering valuable products that solve a tangible need
I’m an Engineering Manager with 15+ years experience building web applications, leading and managing teams, using different technologies and programming languages.
I started as a Unix sysadmin and after a few years of corporate experiences in banking and insurance companies as a Java developer, moving then to PHP and JavaScript, shifting my focus to web businesses and startups.
My goal is to pursue my personal growth in a managerial role, supporting teams and individuals to deliver the best possible product in a safe, inclusive, challenging and healthy environment.
I have a track record of setting up and running developers groups/communities to discuss and share the latest advancements in web technologies. I also enjoy speaking and taking part in international web conferences (slideshare.net/cirpo) and meetups (I gave around 40 presentations so far).
I’ve been an active board member of the Italian PHP, JavaScript User Group, WEBdeBS, WEBdeLDN, and have co-organized 12 international conferences such as Agileday, phpDay, jsDay, Nosqlday and Nodejsconf; some of which were the first of their kind in Italy.
Mentees who work with a mentor for 3+ months reach their goals 2x faster than those going it alone. Long-term mentorship means fewer false starts, more focused sessions, and support that builds week after week.
