I'm an engineering leader with 14 years of experience across software engineering, technical leadership, and people management. Currently I am an Engineering Manager at Meta, where I lead multiple teams working on large-scale reliability and developer infrastructure, including incident management, on-call, metrics, alerting, and AI-assisted operational tooling used across the company.
Before Meta, I held senior engineering leadership roles in smaller technology companies, where I experienced a very different side of engineering: building products from the ground up, scaling engineering organisations, and evolving open-source products into commercial businesses. I've worked on developer tools and document-processing products used by hundreds of large enterprises, including more than half of the Fortune 500.
I've helped dozens of engineers grow in their careers and achieve their goals, from promotions at big tech companies to changing their career tracks. I particularly enjoy mentoring engineering managers, aspiring managers, and senior software engineers who are thinking about what comes next in their careers.
Some of the areas I can help with include:
* Moving from Senior Engineer / Tech Lead to Engineering Manager
* Growing as an Engineering Manager
* Managing and developing high-performing engineering teams
* Performance management, feedback, and difficult conversations
* Hiring and interviewing
* Working effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners
* Prioritisation, delegation, and operating across multiple teams
* Preparing for engineering management interviews
* Navigating Big Tech careers and organisational environments
* Distributed systems, reliability, production engineering, and developer infrastructure
My mentoring style is practical and grounded in situations I've encountered myself. I won't give you generic management frameworks and pretend there's one correct way to handle every situation. Instead, we can work through the specific problem you're facing, understand the trade-offs, and come up with concrete actions you can take.
I'd be happy to help!
