About

Hi, I'm Allison! I've spent 12+ years in software, from Frontend Engineer at LinkedIn to first FE hire post-Series A at Brightwheel (where I grew from IC to leading a 15-person team) to Head of Engineering at Desmos Studio today. As with us all, much of my recent focus has been around balancing the evolving AI landscape while keeping engineers productive, stakeholders happy, and quality high. In my current role, my team uses AI everyday. We are experimenting with different coding agents (Claude vs GPT is a common debate), sharing our learned best practices, and quickly evolving our processes and tools to keep up.

We’ll be a great match if you’re:
* An engineering leader advocating for a balanced AI approach that puts your team first, not just velocity
* A startup leader looking to put some consistent process and practices in place as you scale your early engineering team
* An IC ready to move into management or a newer EM who wants to lead with more confidence
* A hiring manager redesigning interview loops, take-home exercises, and technical assessments so you can continue successfully evaluating engineers
* A manager or mentor wanting to help junior developers learn the crucial problem-solving pieces of being a software engineer in an AI native world
* A senior engineer wondering how you keep your edge surrounded by the pressure to move faster and faster with AI
