Hello! I am a physicist turned data scientist with over 15 years of experience in data analysis, Python programming, and mathematical modeling. I received a PhD in Physics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and for the past 7+ years have worked as a data scientist for a variety of startups. I have been the first data science hire at a company of 10 people and had experience at every stage of a company's growth from 10 to 1000+.
As a product-focused data scientist I have learned to collaborate with engineers, product managers, technical support staff, client-facing service team, and customers themselves. I have formulated and helped to develop new data-driven product features and now hold several patents in AI-related technologies.
Eventually I made the transition to Data Science Manager, and in this role I have helped to guide junior data analysts and data scientists as they learn the tools of the trade and how to navigate successfully in a corporate environment. I also contributed to building out the DS team's hiring process, interviewing potential hires, and working on long term strategy for the team. I'm happy to bring this experience to those interested in breaking into the field or figuring out how to rise within it!
Please reach out if you have any questions. I look forward to connecting!
