I'm a Senior Lighting Artist at The Coalition, part of Xbox Game Studios, specializing in real-time lighting for AAA games. I specialize in environment and gameplay lighting, Unreal Engine, visual storytelling, composition, and building lighting that works across both artistic and technical constraints.
Alongside my production work, I teach game lighting and have experience mentoring artists at different stages of their careers. I enjoy helping artists understand not just how to make an environment look better, but why certain lighting decisions work and how to approach lighting with the mindset and workflows used in AAA production.
I can help with portfolio reviews, Unreal Engine lighting, environment and gameplay lighting, composition, presentation, career development, and breaking into or progressing within the game industry.
My mentorship style is direct and practical. I'll identify what's working, what isn't, and where your time will have the biggest impact. Whether you're building your first lighting portfolio or you're already working professionally and want to push your work further, my goal is to give you actionable feedback you can apply immediately.
You tell Daniel your goals. They see exactly what you want to work on before session one.

What's included in the trial?
Every trial is a little different–here's what Daniel says about their trial:
During the trial, we'll connect briefly to discuss your background, goals, and what you'd like help with. We'll identify where I can provide the most value—whether that's lighting, Unreal Engine, portfolio feedback, or career development—and make sure we're a good fit before starting the mentorship
