Hi, I’m Emma 👋
I’m a Senior Engineering Manager with over 10 years’ experience in software engineering and engineering leadership. I joined Tessian when it was a small startup and was part of its growth through scale-up to its acquisition by Proofpoint, where I now lead a Platform Engineering team. Having experienced every stage of that journey, I’ve led teams through rapid growth, organisational change, and the evolving challenges that come with building high-performing engineering organisations.
I enjoy helping engineers build confidence, navigate promotions, prepare for interviews, and develop the leadership skills needed to become senior engineers or engineering managers. I’m particularly passionate about supporting women in technology and helping create a more inclusive industry, whether that’s by encouraging more women to pursue careers in tech or supporting them as they grow into leadership roles. Whether you’re feeling stuck, stepping into leadership for the first time, or looking for an outside perspective on your career, I’d love to help.

Rather than generic advice, I focus on actionable steps tailored to your goals, drawing on real experience managing teams, hiring engineers, and building high-performing engineering organisations.
