About

I'm a senior engineering leader with 15+ years at the center of applied ML across eBay, Amazon, Apple, Uber, and now Atlassian, where I lead a 40+ person organization redefining enterprise search through Agentic AI.

Over my career I've operated at every level of the ML ladder: applied researcher, tech lead, manager, front-line manager and now executive leading multi-disciplinary organizations of engineers, ML engineers, Applied Scientists, and data scientists. I've built teams from the ground up, scaled one function 6x at Apple, led architectural transitions from classical ML to deep learning to LLM-based Agentic systems, and delivered products serving billions of users with measurable, multi-billion-dollar business impact.

The pattern I've seen across five world-class companies: technical skill gets people into the room, but judgment, influence, and organizational awareness determine who advances. That gap between starting the career and to shine in the career and also being strong IC and being seen as a leader are where I focus in my mentoring.

I typically advise:
Junior engineers building strong technical foundations and learning how to stand out early — choosing the right projects, teams, and skills to compound over time
Mid-level engineers working toward senior, learning to drive projects end-to-end, and expanding influence beyond their immediate team
Senior engineers and ML practitioners preparing for staff-level or leadership transitions
New and mid-career engineering managers building teams, navigating org dynamics, and earning executive trust
Engineers targeting ML, search, and AI roles at top-tier companies, from positioning through interviews
Leaders shaping AI strategy who want a sounding board with real operating experience

My approach is candid and structured. Having hired, promoted, and calibrated talent for over a decade, I'll give you an unfiltered view of how decision-makers evaluate you and then a concrete plan to close the gap. Mentees leave our sessions with clarity, not platitudes.

If you're serious about your next step, book an intro session and bring your hardest career question. That's where the best conversations start.
