If you’re a software engineer, engineering manager, product manager, or technical program manager looking to accelerate your career, become a stronger leader, or navigate a transition into AI, I can help.
I’m a Sr. Manager of Software Development and Principal Product Manager – Technical at AWS, with a career spanning software engineering, engineering management, and product leadership. Before AWS, I spent five years leading engineering teams at Amazon and nearly four years as a software engineer at Bloomberg. I’ve also served as an engineering leader at an early-stage startup, giving me experience building products and organizations in both large companies and startup environments. I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science and an EMBA.
My own career has involved multiple transitions—from scientific high-performance computing and fintech to e-commerce, Industrial IoT, digital twins, Edge AI, and Agentic AI, as well as moving from software engineer to engineering manager, senior manager, and principal product manager. I understand both the technical and organizational challenges that come with growing your career.
I’ve conducted 200+ technical and leadership interviews and reviewed 500+ resumes as a hiring manager and interviewer across Amazon, AWS, Bloomberg, and startups. I’ve hired engineers, engineering managers, product managers, technical program managers, and solutions architects, and helped promote more than 30 engineers and 9 technical managers into larger roles.
I work especially well with people who are ambitious but facing a specific career or leadership inflection point—for example:
• Moving from engineer to manager
• Moving from manager back to individual contributor
• Growing from manager to senior manager or director-level scope
• Transitioning between engineering and product roles
• Breaking into AI, cloud, or emerging technology
• Improving technical strategy, system design, or product thinking
• Navigating promotion, organizational changes, or difficult leadership situations
• Preparing for an important career move, including interviewing and positioning yourself effectively
My mentoring style is practical, direct, and highly personalized. Rather than giving generic career advice, we’ll start with your specific situation, identify the gap between where you are and where you want to be, and build a concrete plan. Depending on your goals, we might work through a promotion strategy, leadership challenge, technical decision, product strategy, career transition, resume, interview, or a longer-term development plan.
I believe good mentorship should leave you with more than ideas—you should leave each conversation with clearer thinking, specific actions, and a way to measure progress.
If you’re serious about taking the next step in your career, reach out and tell me what you’re working toward and where you are. We’ll use our first conversation to determine whether I can help and what a productive mentorship could look like.
