What's included in the trial?
Every trial is a little different—here’s what John says about their trial:
We'll meet for a quick call (usually under 30 minutes) where we:
- Break the ice and introduce ourselves
- Discuss your goals and how I can support you
- Coordinate logistics like time zones, meeting frequency, and communication methods
Musician turned software architect, with a 30-year detour through music tech, mobile apps, and enterprise systems (including 10+ years at IBM).
After graduating from Berklee College of Music, I studied computer music in Paris with folks like Iannis Xenakis, Curtis Roads, and Julio Estrada and helped build software like Finale, Notion, and MasterTracks Pro, tools used by composers and musicians around the world.
These days I lead mobile architecture work at IBM. Along the way I’ve mentored developers, composers, engineers, and career changers of all kinds, especially people whose paths don’t fit neatly into one lane.
If you’re exploring a creative or technical transition (or both), I’d be happy to help. I take on a small number of mentees and shape the experience around whatever would actually be useful to you.
