About
I mentor two kinds of people: engineers who want a clear path to senior or staff and are not sure what to work on next, and new or aspiring engineering managers who want to make the jump without learning every lesson the hard way.
I am a Senior Engineering Manager at Royal Caribbean Group, where I lead multiple teams building large-scale, distributed systems. My background is hands-on: Java and Kotlin with Spring Boot, TypeScript with React and Next.js, and Kubernetes, AWS, and observability tooling underneath. I also use AI-assisted engineering daily in a large enterprise and coach engineers and teams on workflows that actually stick.
Most of my time now goes to the things that actually move teams forward: growing engineers into seniors and leads, running effective 1:1s and performance reviews, hiring, and making architecture decisions that hold up under real production load.
