I'm a self-taught designer with a multi-decade career. I started with web and print 25 years ago and then pivoted to UX/UI, Product Design, and Design Systems in the last 12 years. I have over five years of experience mentoring and managing designers and look forward to helping fellow self-directed learners level up their knowledge.
Mentoring Style
I'm an "Ask Me Anything" type of person - a problem-solver who is willing to share insights and help you fine tune processes and workflows. I'm not a lecture-style teacher who will give you answers, I'd rather help you help yourself by pointing you to the right resouces to help fill any foundational knowledge gaps or help you think through your design process issues. Figma, AI, and Design Systems
I am deeply proficient in Figma, notably in auto-layout, variant and property management, and component building and refactoring. I have been the Figma go-to guy wherever I work. This is for mentees who have a working knowledge of Figma and are seeking to learn to best utilize it's features. Recently, I've been integrating Claude Design and Claude Code into my design systems workflow, creating tools and skills to automate many parts of the building process.
Design Systems are my passion and I'm happy to provide feedback and insights on your process and/or design system.
