Scientist, entrepreneur, writer, and technologist. I am currently a Senior AI Engineer at Planet Labs PBC, where I am part of the AI Research team. I build and work with agentic systems, foundation models, and build full-stack AI-powered applications. I also have a PhD in computational astrophysics, and a BSc in applied physics & applied mathematics.
After my PhD, I cofounded an applied ML startup in the aerospace sector. I recruited the data science and product teams, leading them as CTO, raised venture capital, and oversaw the development of a state-of-the-art adaptive learning technology for commercial pilot training. The technology was later acquired by TXT Group.
On the side, I mentor startup founders and junior AI researchers/engineers, helping them achieve their goals. I also co-authored the 3rd Edition of "Mining the Social Web", a textbook on data mining and analysis, published by O'Reilly Media in 2019.
