About

My name is Quincy Iheme, and I am a Manager of Software Development & Engineering, and I currently lead engineering teams as part of the Technology, Product and eXperience (TPX) organization within Comcast Cable. Prior to management, I worked in Quality Assurance and as a Software Engineer in the Connected Living organization. I have also served as a Web Development Instructor at the University of Pennsylvania coding bootcamp. I originally attended Saint Peter's College before moving into a role at a medical device manufacturing company. A couple of years into that position, I found myself at a crossroads in my career where I could either continue down the path I was on or move on to something I could love and grow into at the same time.

Enter General Assembly, where I enrolled a 3-month full-time bootcamp to learn the skills I needed to become a web developer. Shortly after, I was hired at Comcast and I have been there ever since. As the time went on, I was introduced to a volunteer driven organization named Railsbridge, which hosts 1.5-day workshops to learn Ruby on Rails and targets underrepresented groups in technology. I volunteered at a workshop in the Fall of 2014 and continued to help organize events until 2017. I had also worked as an Expert in Residence at General Assembly, as a Teacher's Assistant for Rutgers University's Coding Bootcamp, and a Front-End Instructor at New York Code & Design Academy before coming to UPenn.

The one thing I love about this profession is that it pushes you to continually learn new technologies while also honing the skills you already have. I have also found that he has a passion for teaching code, writing it and speaking about it at conferences. I have spoken at DevOps and Open Source conferences and will be looking to expand to other web development conferences as well.
