If you had asked me 10 years ago what software engineering was, I would've told you it's just entering 1s and 0s into a computer. I quickly realized how vast the field actually was and naturally got overwhelmed. I was lucky enough to meet impactful mentors who guided me through various types of questions such as what languages/frameworks to learn, how to prepare for interviews, how to be a professional and set goals, and the list goes on. I wouldn't be the engineer I am today without my mentors and I want to pay it forward to other folks looking to further their careers.
I went to the University of Waterloo for Computer Engineering where I underwent six internships at companies such as Microsoft, Hulu and Yelp. I quickly found my passion in UI development through this. After my internships, I went back to Hulu full time and worked on their TV applications where I grew to be a tech lead. I currently work at Netflix within the Commerce Organization
As a former intern, I'm extremely passionate about early career development and hiring. I have been actively involved in Hulu's and Netflix's early career recruiting programs. I am also very career oriented and believe I can help with career development topics such as setting goals, gaining more visibility, progressing your career.

Rahin is humble and grounded with real technical skills and leadership qualities. I've enjoyed working with him and find that he is helpful not just in preparing for software engineering job applications / getting into MANGA but at advising how to foster workplace relationships, technical leadership and soft skills as well which was exactly what I was looking for. I liked how he took the time to reply to my questions in detail and he's helping me get an idea of what it takes to be a senior developer and to progress in my career. It's helpful to brainstorm with someone who's experienced and can nudge me to take better decisions. I haven't yet landed a senior developer role externally, but I'm more confident that I can do it with a couple more months of mentorship. Highly recommended mentor!
