About

If you're stepping into your first engineering management role, or you're a few years in and still figuring out how to actually lead - I've been where you are, and I can help you find your footing faster.

I'm an Engineering Manager with 13 years of experience across Square, Twitter, VMware, Pivotal and ThoughtWorks. I've led teams ranging from 8 to 19 engineers, navigated org-wide transformations, and spent years mentoring engineers and leaders. Over 9 years of mentoring, the questions I hear most — and love helping with most — are the ones nobody quite prepares you for:

Am I ready for promotion, and how do I make the case for myself?
How do I give feedback that actually lands?
How do I build trust with my team while also holding a high bar?

My style is hands-on and practical. We won't just talk theory — I'll walk you through real examples from my career, work through your specific situations together, and use roleplay to help you practice the hard conversations before they happen. I've driven promotions at every level, including multiple Staff Engineer promotions, so I know what "ready" actually looks like — and how to help you get there and articulate it confidently.

I'd love to work with you if you're a senior engineer eyeing the EM track, a new manager trying to hit your stride, or an experienced EM looking to level up your leadership toolkit.

Let's build the kind of manager you'd have wanted.
