Hands-on support
People come to mentorship for different reasons. Maybe you're new to UX research and trying to understand what real-world work actually looks like beyond bootcamps and surface-level advice. You might already be working in UX and feeling unsure how to grow as roles shift, teams get leaner, and expectations keep changing. You might also be thinking about AI and wondering which skills still matter, how to adapt, and how to do that without sacrificing the quality of your work or your career aspirations.
I can’t predict the market, and I don’t have a formula for landing a job or outpacing everyone else. What I can offer is experienced mentorship, an honest perspective, and the space to think clearly about your work, your direction, and your decisions. I bring this perspective from many years in the field, having seen many changes in how UX research is practiced, valued, and understood.
My role as a mentor is to help you navigate the uncertainty, solve challenging problems, and build a solid foundation to be a strong UX researcher in any market. That includes developing confidence in how you approach problems, how you work, how you operate inside organizations, and how you deliver results that provides real value to stakeholders and end users.
My work is grounded in experience across healthcare, fintech, insurance, media, and large, complex internal systems. These are the kinds of environments UX researchers work in. Learning how to do good work in these environments, where conditions are often stressful and everyone has an opinion, is what helps practitioners stay relevant and effective long term.
In our one-on-one sessions, we'll focus on what feels most useful or pressing to you at that time. That might be learning fundamentals, unpacking a challenging project, reviewing work in progress, pressure-testing your analysis, or talking about your role or career direction. Everything is on the table and open for discussion. Sometimes the outcome is practical, sometimes it’s reflective. Often it’s both, and much more.
If you’re looking for a mentor who can teach, guide, encourage, and support you honestly and authentically, I’m excited to work with you. You don’t need to have everything figured out to get started. We can begin by sending me a message or booking a short intro call, and we’ll take it from there. Hope to hear from you.

Scott is a great person and also an experienced designer and mentor. Whit his knowledge, I've improved my process, especially in the discovery phase, by asking better questions and understanding design problems.
