This MentorCruise session is designed to help you improve how your work is presented, whether you are applying for jobs, pitching clients, or building credibility in your field. If your portfolio feels scattered, outdated, or not quite convincing enough, this session gives you practical feedback on how to strengthen it.

You’ll work with an experienced mentor to review your portfolio through the eyes of a hiring manager, client, or industry peer. Together, you can assess the quality of your project selection, case studies, storytelling, structure, and presentation, and identify what is missing or not landing. The goal is to leave with clearer direction on how to make your portfolio more focused, more compelling, and more effective at creating opportunities.

I’m a senior UX researcher and career coach with extensive experience interviewing and hiring UX researchers. I continue to assess and hire freelance research subcontractors through my studio, so I understand what makes a portfolio stand out from a decision-maker’s perspective.

I’ll provide focused, practical feedback on your portfolio’s structure, storytelling and positioning - including how clearly you demonstrate your research thinking, influence and impact. As this is a 30-minute session, we’ll prioritise the changes that will make the greatest difference.
