How To Adopt A Winning Mindset and Endure in Business

In the words of Albert Einstein, “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.” Einstein is legendary for being a man of great thought and action.

When he observed a problem that did not have a solution, he worked to create one. As a result, his life was filled with momentous discoveries, inventions, and achievements. In this quote, Einstein gave light to a truth that is essential to us. One must never stop dreaming. You must never fool yourself into thinking that your journey has ended and that there is no more to be done. Though you may accomplish many things in life, there is always a new venture to embark on, a new goal to set, and a new dream to achieve.

Becoming An Enduring Entrepreneur

When a dream takes hold of you and you of it, it may seem as though there is nothing else but that dream. This is good, because you must focus on it and hold on to it tightly in order to achieve it. Once you have achieved that dream and you are standing in the middle of your accomplishment, there will be more work to be done. When you finally start your business, you must work to perfect it. When you finally win your race, you must train for the next one. When your team wins the championship, the next season will come quickly. When you get your degree, you must figure out what to do with it. When you finally get married, you must work to keep your love fresh. When you become a mother or father, you must then raise the child. This is the beautiful cycle of life. It keeps you alive. Never tire of pursuing your dreams and your passions.

Another quote from Einstein read, “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.” We must always remain curious. Curiosity is the very thing that gives birth to passion. It is not wise to ignore a curious thought, especially when the same curious thought revisits you multiple times. This is a subconscious cue that you should explore this mystery. Research and track down the answers even if it seems that the knowledge is not pertinent to you at the time. Knowledge is never useless. There will be a use for it soon enough. In fact, it could be that your next venture will derive from this very thought. Pay attention to your surroundings and remain inquisitive. This can only lead to an adventurous life journey.

Continuous Innovation

Albert Einstein was a world renowned scientist, but he was not only a scientist. He did not allow his title to become a prison. Instead, it became a platform, and a doorway to discovering new things. Einstein was Jewish and he was German. In 1933, when he and his fellow Jews were experiencing hardships due to rising racism in Germany, Einstein stepped up and boldly spoke to a large audience in Europe about his fear of a looming crisis. He declared, “If we want to resist the powers which threaten to suppress intellectual and individual freedom we must keep clearly before us what is at stake, and what we owe to that freedom which our ancestors have won for us after hard struggles.” Einstein also wrote about God, peace, and humanism. He was a scholar. As he explored science, he also explored life, closely examining everything, and teaching the world his wise and simple ideals. His quotes are timeless. He could sum up all of life in a few sentences. The world will always be in awe of his brilliance.

What would have happened if Einstein had chosen to stick to science and had explored nothing else? Truly, he brought science to everything else he did. Science never left him. It was the gateway through which he saw the world. His prospective was unique because of his first passion and dream. His scientific discoveries merely unlocked the enormity of all that he was. And that is what your dream will do for you. It will awaken you. It will be the key that unlocks great wells that lie within you. Whatever you do, do not stifle them. Do not prevent the mighty stream from rushing out of you. You are more than one thing. You are full of intellect and wisdom and bold actions that will change and shape the world. Therefore, you must never stop moving, you must never stop growing, and you must never stop to question whether you are qualified to do anything. The passion is what qualifies you. It is what differentiates you from all those around you. The passion is your platform. You must never give way to fear or naysayers. Grow or die. Speak or die. Move or die.

With his simple way of understanding the world Einstein stated, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” That is it in a nutshell. If you stop moving and progressing, this world will devour you. It will happen slowly at first. Then before long you will feel the weight of age. Soon you will seep slowly into death. You must make it your goal to always remain full of life and curiosity. Remove all other options but forward. Moving backward will do you no good, and we were not really designed to move sideways efficiently. So run forward.

Embrace The Down Moments

There may be moments of down time. These should be moments of reflection. Times where you are discovering more about yourself. In fact, you should have these moments on purpose. Daily, if you are able. Einstein said, “Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he sometimes thinks he senses it. But without deep reflection one knows daily life that one exists for other people—first of all for those upon whose smiles and well-being our own happiness is wholly dependent, and then for the many, unknown to us, to whose destinies we bound by the ties of sympathy.” Daily reflection keeps us grounded. It gives us the ability to pull away from life and see it from a different view point. We can observe our actions and the actions of others as well search out our feelings, and hopefully even find the reason that lies behind our behavior. And possibly during these times you will hear the small voice that leads you to the next step in your journey. I believe this voice to be God’s voice. It’s small and subtle and you only hear it when you’re paying attention. It’s during these times of reflection that you receive the direction you’ve been hoping for. Reflecting is essential.

There is no better way to conclude this chapter than to leave you with these inspiring quotes from, the genius, Albert Einstein. See you down the road.
