About

Hi, I'm Adarsh! I love building interesting projects and cultivating passionate, talented people looking to grow in the industry.

I'll share more about me below but to summarize how I can help, feel free to reach out if you're
- someone outside the industry or looking for a job and need eyes on your resume and ways to stand out
- someone already in the industry but looking to grow their career (managing stakeholders, project management, engineer excellence, navigating promotions, leading as an engineer..etc)
- just need general advice (side projects, working in this field, need a safe space for discussing difficult workplace situations)

๐๐จ๐ฐ ๐š ๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž ๐›๐ข๐ญ ๐š๐›๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ฆ๐ž...

I was born and raised in Dubai, UAE before I went on to study Computer Science at UCLA and did internships at ESRI and Google. Following that, I worked at Google in New York for a little under 5 years before moving to Stripe as a Senior Software Engineer back in Dubai. I

I've led several large scale full stack projects and groups of engineers across various initiatives. I do this while continuing to seek opportunities to scale myself as an engineer and leader.

In my spare time, I love building hobby projects that are exciting to work on for me personally and help solve interesting problems for others. I've built NookPlaza.net (10+ million views) for Animal Crossing, Palpedia.net (20+ million views) and many other interesting projects.

I also love spending time mentoring others to share my own experiences and knowledge. Over the last 3-4 years, I've helped over 75+ folks outside of my day job with career and resume workshopping. At my jobs, I've helped various colleagues and mentees continue to grow.

To be candid, I did all that for free because I genuinely enjoy helping others and still do. It helps me learn a lot and stay grounded so that I never forget what this industry and market is like for others. As my time and experience has grown, I'm trying out refocusing this as a paid effort to provide quality time & value to both you and me.

If you've made it this far and decided you don't need my help or the timing isn't right, I hope I can at least leave you with these 5 brief advices:

1. ๐’๐ž๐ž๐ค ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ: Someone who's been through the wringer.

2. ๐’๐ž๐ž๐ค ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ: Someone who IS going through the wringer.

3. ๐’๐ž๐ž๐ค ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ: If you wait for things to come to you, you may be waiting forever. This applies to classes, work, and reaching out to your network.

4. ๐๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐ž๐ฆ๐ฉ๐š๐ญ๐ก๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ก๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ: treating people the way you'd want to be treated goes a long way. One day you will be where you always wished you were and somebody else wishes they were.

5. ๐‘๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ ๐ง๐ข๐ณ๐ž ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐จ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ฏ๐š๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ž: Imposter syndrome is widespread and thinking you got lucky is too. But you got that new internship, job, promotion, or opportunity because of the hard work you put in. I personally believe luck is just the accumulation of hard work so it's important to recognize your own value.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to potentially connecting!
