About

Hey! I'm Casey, a software engineer with over 20 years of experience across a wide range of environments — from small startups to Apple and Google. Along the way I've worked on everything from mobile apps and AR/VR experiences to medical device firmware, which means I've had to find my footing in a lot of unfamiliar territory over the years.

I know how daunting it can feel to make the leap from studying software engineering to working as a professional developer. The codebase is enormous, everyone around you seems to know exactly what they're doing, and it's hard to know where to start. I've been there, and I've also spent time as a lead instructor at a coding bootcamp helping students navigate exactly that transition.

Whether you're dealing with imposter syndrome, trying to get unstuck on a difficult bug, figuring out how to read a large unfamiliar codebase, or learning how to work effectively with your team and leadership — I genuinely enjoy helping people work through those challenges. There's no judgment here, just a fellow engineer who remembers what it felt like to be new.

I also care deeply about the human side of this industry. At Google I volunteered as a Blue Dot Listener, supporting colleagues through mental health challenges in the workplace, and I co-founded the Google Developers Group in Columbus to help build community around technology.

I'd love to be a resource for you as you find your footing and grow into the engineer you want to be.
