Dan has been an amazing mentor in helping me become a better programmer. The knowledge he has provided me with has been invaluable; our calls and code reviews have expanded my knowledge and revealed areas I didn't realise I needed to improve on. As an outsider of the technology industry there were many things I didn't know that I was unaware of. However, through the code reviews and Dan guiding me through what to focus on, I was able to bridge that gap. Through the various challenges set and code reviews I believe I have become a much more well-rounded developer. Also, Dan's background in recruitment was a huge asset when applying for jobs. He helped me with how to prepare properly and to not forget about the small details in order to standout more. I recently received an offer from a relatively big technology company and I don't think I would have gotten this far if it wasn't for Dan making me a better programmer and problem-solver.
