Hi, I'm Justin!

I'm a product designer with 9+ years at Google, Amazon, and Capital One, where I've shipped products that millions of people use every day. I focus my mentorship on people at the start of the journey, whether it's designers finding their footing, students building their portfolios, and career-changers wondering if it's possible to break into tech from somewhere else.

I can help you position your background, build your first portfolio, and land interviews with resumes and applications that get responses. When the interviews come, we'll prepare for behavioral interviews, app critiques, design exercises, and presenting your work without the nerves taking over. Along the way, I'll give you feedback on your actual work, guidance on your design process, and honest answers about where to focus your learning, including how AI is changing what designers need to know.

I've mentored and taught design students at Carnegie Mellon (my alma mater) for years. I've sat on the hiring side at big tech companies, seeing firsthand why some candidates stand out and others get overlooked. I'll share that perspective openly with you.
