I've been both a Founding Machine Learning Engineer and Senior Data Scientist at tech giants like Shopify, building recommendation systems end-to-end and am intimately familiar with the breadth and depth required in ML/AI/data/software! I'm comfortable full stack, from data analysis, data science, data engineering, backend software engineering, machine learning, to machine learning engineering! phew! As someone who broke into the ML/AI space from an unconventional background, I know the pains and roadblocks of starting over in a field as vast, technical, and usually highly non-diverse as ML/AI/data/software. There is so much theory that can be boiled into much simpler terms over complex jargon. Also, the landscape in industry is much more different than what I had learned in school, and bridging that gap is so important to me as someone who would have missed out had I not had wonderful mentors that kept me motivated and confident in my own abilities while navigating such a fast-changing space. ✨
