Howdy 🤠 I'm Lana and I've been in product design for a decade, currently leading the product design team in the Growth track @ PandaDoc.
Most of the problems I see in design work aren't about your craft, but rather about framing, pace or tradeoffs. I pace work to the problem, not the timeline, and I build teams that hold that standard without me in the room.
My mentoring is best suited to designers who've hit the ceiling of just doing good work. You're shipping but still not getting the scope you want. Maybe you've been told to 'be more strategic' and nobody explained what that actually means. Maybe you're about to lead people for the first time and you're quietly winging it.
I can help with:
— Connecting design decisions to outcomes the business cares about: activation, adoption conversion, retention and holding that argument in a room where 'better UX' or 'polish' isn't going to be enough.
— Framing the problem before you solve it: how to spot when you've inherited someone else's framing, and what to ask instead.
— Working in Growth: experiments, metrics, and what to do when the data says your favourite design lost.
— Moving from doing the work to setting the bar: giving feedback that transfers judgment, and building the rituals that make a team good without you reviewing everything.
If you want to stop being the designer who makes it look right and start being the one who decides what gets made, book a session. Bring a project, a review or presentation you're dreading, a promotion case you can't articulate. Either way we'll work out your next move.
You tell Lana your goals. They see exactly what you want to work on before session one.
You meet within days. Lana reviews your application and books your first session, usually within a day or two.
You leave with a plan. Concrete next steps and a weekly rhythm from your very first week.
