A mentor who genuinely invests in your growth.... Finding a mentor who truly gets what the industry expects from emerging designers and can articulate it clearly is rare. Nick is that mentor. His feedback never felt surface-level. It wasn't about tweaking colours or adjusting layouts. It was substantive, grounded in real industry experience, and always pointed at the bigger picture: what hiring teams actually look for, what professional standards really mean, and where I needed to grow to meet them. Every session left me with sharper clarity about my work and my direction. What stood out most wasn't just his knowledge — it was how he chose to use it. Nick has gone over our allocated hour on more occasions than I can count, not because he had to, but because he wanted to make sure I left with a clear next step and not just a half-finished thought. That made a real difference in how much I got out of each session. I also have to mention that he paused my plan whenever he felt I didn't need active mentoring at that point — essentially making sure I wasn't paying for sessions that wouldn't serve me. It's a small thing, but it told me everything about the kind of person he is: someone who is genuinely in your corner. If you're a designer looking for mentorship prepares you for the real world, and comes from someone who actually cares about your progress — Nick is the one.

Nick has been a mentor for over 2 years and has challenged me to be a better designer and thinker by asking thought provoking questions that push me to challenge my assumptions. I’ve come to him for advice and feedback on different projects and appreciate his perspective. As a result of our relationship, I’ve become a more confident in articulating my design decisions. Thank you Nick for being a teacher and friend.

Nick was a great mentor and I learned a lot from him. We went over my portfolio website and case study, and we prepped for interviews. Nick has deep professional experience, and he shares his insights freely with me, which is invaluable for a more junior/associate UX designer like me. I landed an interview recently, and I went into it much more confidently than before the mentorship. After 2 months, I now have an updated website, a redesigned case study, and a document of interview notes that will help me in my job search.
