About

Started my career in aerospace as a systems engineer before converting to product management at Google. Over my time at NASA, Google, Uber, and others I've built a successful toolkit of approaches to diverse and complicated product problems. I specialize in mentoring career transitions into product management and converting teams from R&D mode into product-led organizations.

What mentees say

5 out of 5 stars

I believe the last time I wrote a review was about half a year ago. That means it has now been exactly one year since I started working with Ryan. When I began, I had: 1. Zero experience in finding a job in the United States; 2. Zero knowledge of frameworks, storytelling strategies, market insights, and honestly, I had never even properly prepared my CV; 3. Almost no network. By the end of this year, I hold a Senior Product Manager position at a very good company. That is directly the result of my work with Ryan. Whenever people ask me what is most important in finding a job, I say - its the people who help you. And Ryan was the most important person along this journey. I continue to work with Ryan, but now my focus is on achieving my long-term career goals.

I put 5 stars, but, honestly, I wish I could give much more! I never had a proper mentor—only occasional peers slightly ahead. But after moving to the USA, I realized I needed one to understand the market, hiring, and excelling as a product manager, ideally from my industry. For now, I've been working with Ryan for six months, focusing on landing a new job. Due to technical reasons, I could only start applying two months ago. Our work has increased my chances tenfold: the first 3-4 months were spent preparing my portfolio, CV, case studies, mock interviews, and networking. Once I could apply, we reviewed every interview and developed tailored strategies for each company. Ryan's ability to answer extra quickly and give laser-focused advice is something crazy :) It is very important that Ryan is the hiring manager himself and has hired people in different companies. He clearly understands what different companies are seeking in you and helps to highlight those parts in your stories. I especially want to highlight two approaches: 1. Storytelling is the king in your hiring process. 2. You need a clear framework that will incorporate this storytelling. Ryan will help you master this balance of how to structure all your experience, but at the same time, not to be a scripted robot. This is VERY important in the hiring process, to be able to demonstrate your personality. If you are trying to find a mentor that will structure your experience, your skill set, help you to articulate your personal story and give you tools to tell it – Ryan is the best choice. I literally can't wish more. Beyond job hunting, I also want to deepen my product management skills, and I’m excited to continue learning with Ryan once I land my next role.

What I really appreciate about Ryan's approach to mentorship is he needs only a little amount of information to pinpoint the core problem that needs to be addressed. I have worked with him across different problem spaces; performance evaluation, piloting a new capability, or providing feedback on a PRD. And each time, he shows his wealth of experience by being able to quickly spot the core problem(s), share actionable feedback, and is emotionally intelligent enough to know when to offer affirmations. I am looking forward to continuously working with him and so far, I can see the benefits already. My written work, based on his feedback, is standing out, and I am working on being better at my oral communication due largely in part to his clear and directed feedback.

Ryan is a great mentor! His feedback made all the difference in succeeding in an interview, which led to securing a job offer (I accepted the role). He is highly professional and has great insights and wants his mentees to succeed. I highly recommend working with him.
