I am a product-obsessed engineering leader with two decades at Amazon and AWS, following earlier engineering roles at Nordstrom, Delta Airlines, and Sapient. Most recently at AWS I led the first agentic AI solution for large-scale cloud migrations, cutting enterprise timelines roughly in half. Before that I helped launch and scale Amazon Business's India B2B marketplace to 2.1M+ customers and $524M GMS, growing the engineering org 5x with low attrition. I have extensive experience with Amazon interviews, talent reviews as well as promotion processes. Am also a patent holder and a former Amazon Culture Champion.
I am now in a deliberate next chapter (advising, investing, and mentoring) and I am using it to help technical leaders navigate the same high-stakes environments I spent my career in.
How we can work together
1) Senior IC to leader: Making the jump to manager, managing managers, or stepping into director-level scope — and deciding whether you actually want to.
2) The promotion black box: Building the evidence, scope, and narrative that get you leveled up at Big Tech, from someone who has sat on the other side of the table.
3) Career decisions under uncertainty: Competing offers, a stalled role, Big Tech versus startup, or a transition you can't yet name. We will examine it honestly, including the parts you would rather skip.
4) Leading at scale: Setting technical direction, building durable cross-geo teams, and translating frontier tech into things that actually ship.
5) Founders and early operators: Enterprise go-to-market, product strategy, and the operating mechanisms that keep a growing team honest.
How I work:
Direct and practical. Session one, we find the real bottleneck and pick one or two high-leverage moves. You do the work between sessions. Session two, we review what actually happened and adjust. I would rather tell you something useful than something comfortable.
I am the right mentor for you if you want candid feedback and are ready to act on it. I am the wrong one if you're looking for someone to validate a decision you have already made.
Getting started: Send me a note with the decision or bottleneck in front of you and where you want to be in 12 months. If I am not the right fit, I will tell you that directly and point you somewhere better.
Outside work: marathons, chess, and an electric guitar (-->that am still not good at ;))
You tell Subbu your goals. They see exactly what you want to work on before session one.
You meet within days. Subbu reviews your application and books your first session, usually within a day or two.
You leave with a plan. Concrete next steps and a weekly rhythm from your very first week.

What's included in the trial?
Every trial is a little different–here's what Subbu says about their trial:
In the first week we get straight to work.
Before our call, you will tell me the decision or bottleneck in front of you and where you want to be in 12 months, and send your résumé or LinkedIn.
On our 60-minute session we will pressure-test your goal, name the real constraint, and agree on one or two high-leverage moves, plus how we will work together.
You will finish the week with a concrete plan and a clear view of whether I'm the right mentor for you.
