About

I’m a Staff Software Engineer with 11+ years of experience across Meta and NVIDIA, where I’ve worked on large-scale product and backend systems, technical design, distributed systems, and cross-functional engineering execution.

I mentor software engineers who want to grow not just as coders, but as confident technical professionals — people who can reason clearly, communicate well, present their work effectively, and make stronger career decisions.

I can help with career growth, technical confidence, communication skills, presenting your work, navigating cross-functional collaboration, system design, backend engineering, technical design, promotion readiness, and interview preparation.

Having worked on high-impact products used at significant scale, I can offer perspective on what strong engineering looks like beyond writing code: breaking ambiguous problems down, making practical trade-offs, communicating technical decisions clearly, working effectively with product and other stakeholders, and taking ownership from idea to production.

My own career path was shaped by self-learning, practical experience, and repeatedly stepping into unfamiliar challenges. My experience shaped how I think about growth: careers are not always linear, and the right guidance, structure, confidence, and feedback can make a meaningful difference.

Mentoring is something I genuinely care about. Alongside mentoring engineers through work, I volunteer with Women@Tech, where I support community and mentorship initiatives focused on helping people grow, build confidence, and access opportunities in technology.

My mentoring style is practical, collaborative, and honest. Rather than simply giving you answers, I’ll help you reason through problems, identify gaps, and build repeatable frameworks you can use independently. Depending on your goals, our sessions can involve career planning, communication coaching, preparing for important conversations, presenting technical work more clearly, system design discussions, interview preparation, or reviewing real technical problems and projects.

I’m particularly happy to mentor:

• Software engineers working toward senior-level roles
• Engineers who want to communicate and present their work more confidently
• Early-career engineers looking for guidance on how to grow beyond coding tasks
• Career switchers who want a realistic understanding of professional software engineering
• Engineers preparing for technical or behavioural interviews
• Engineers who want a sounding board for career, technical, or leadership decisions

My goal is to make mentoring concrete and useful. We’ll identify where you are, where you want to get to, and focus our time on the skills and decisions that will have the biggest impact.

What happens when you start

You tell Tamanna your goals. They see exactly what you want to work on before session one.

You meet within days. Tamanna reviews your application and books your first session, usually within a day or two.

You leave with a plan. Concrete next steps and a weekly rhythm from your very first week.
