You’ll work with an experienced mentor to define your next step, identify the skills and signals that matter, and create a plan for making progress inside your current company or beyond it. Together, you can assess your strengths, spot gaps, map out promotion criteria, and think through how to build visibility, ownership, and momentum over time. The goal is to leave with more clarity, better direction, and a concrete plan to move your career forward with intention.
Your mentor
I'm currently a Data Engineer at Amazon (AWS). I started my career as a junior analyst and worked my way up to L5 in about two and a half years. Having gone through that process myself, I know how difficult it can be to figure out what skills to prioritize, how to position yourself, and what companies are actually looking for.
I've also been mentoring on MentorCruise since August 2025 and have helped eight people land roles in data and software engineering. One of the things I enjoy most about mentoring is helping people figure out their next steps and putting together a realistic plan to get there.
In this 45-minute session, we'll discuss your background, where you currently stand, and what you're trying to achieve. We'll go over what you've tried so far, identify areas for improvement, and figure out what you should be focusing on to make progress.
After our session, I'll put together a personalized roadmap outlining your priorities for the next 90 days, milestones for the following 6 months, and actionable steps to help you reach your goals.
This session is especially useful if you're looking to transition from analytics into data engineering, break into a FAANG-level company, or move from a mid-level to senior engineering role. If you're already interviewing and primarily need technical practice, I'd recommend booking my interview prep session instead.
I'm available weekday evenings from 5–8 PM Pacific and weekend mornings from 8–11 AM. I typically respond within 24 hours.
