An introductory call is a simple way to get to know a mentor before committing to ongoing mentorship. This session gives you the chance to ask questions, talk through your goals, and see whether the mentor’s background, communication style, and approach feel like the right fit for you. It is a low-pressure starting point designed to help you make a more confident decision.

You can use the call to share what you are working on, what kind of support you are looking for, and where you feel stuck right now. It is also a chance to understand how the mentor typically works with mentees, what kind of guidance they can offer, and whether there is a strong mutual fit. The goal is to leave the conversation with more clarity on your next step and whether you want to continue working together.

Hi there! Before you book an introductory session, here’s a quick overview of my experience and what you can expect:

Experience & Background: I’ve spent over a decade in machine learning, statistics, and engineering roles across academia and industry. I’m currently a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon working on causal measurement for advertising, and I’ve previously held ML roles at Uber and in academic labs. I’ve conducted interviews, mentored engineers, and helped candidates prepare for technical and applied scientist roles at top-tier tech companies.

Why I’m qualified: I’ve published 30+ papers in top venues like NeurIPS and Nature Neuroscience, contributed to open-source libraries like scikit-learn and PyWhy, and led engineering teams through FDA approvals and production-scale ML deployment. I've helped mentees build personalized prep plans, sharpen ML intuition, and improve their chances in competitive interview loops.

Session availability: I usually host sessions on weeknight evenings and weekends (Eastern Time), but I’m flexible depending on your schedule and needs.
