This session gives you the chance to ask questions, talk through your goals, and see whether the mentor’s background, communication style, and approach feel like the right fit for you. It is a low-pressure starting point designed to help you make a more confident decision.

You can use the call to share what you are working on, what kind of support you are looking for, and where you feel stuck right now. It is also a chance to understand how the mentor typically works with mentees, what kind of guidance they can offer, and whether there is a strong mutual fit. The goal is to leave the conversation with more clarity on your next step and whether you want to continue working together.

Experience & Background:

I’m a backend and cloud engineer with 15+ years of experience building scalable systems and leading engineering teams. At Amazon, I’ve worked across AWS and the smart home space, driving architecture, mentoring engineers, and shipping high-impact services on serverless AWS infrastructure. My expertise spans distributed systems, API design (Smithy/OpenAPI/GraphQL), automation via codegen pipelines, and developer productivity tooling. I’ve also worked extensively with Scala, Java, Kotlin, Rust, and Terraform.
