About this Session

If you're looking for a mentor, and you're just not sure about how this all works – this one is for you. In a casual, informal introductory call, a mentor will introduce themselves, show you around the platform, explain how our mentorships work, and explain how they would set up a mentorship with you.

This session is perfect if you're looking for a long-term mentor, but you're just not sure how this can work – or if you already set eyes on a specific mentor, and want to get to know them beforehand.

Let's have an informal chat before having to sign up and go through the trouble of writing an application, waiting, paying, etc. We'll introduce ourselves and explain how I like to work and can hopefully help; you'll explain what you're looking for and any other expectations. After the call, it's entirely at your discretion if you'd like to continue and make this a more formal arrangement :-)

I reached out to Hugo to learn more about what it is like to be in a product leader role so that I can better inform my career goals. Speaking to Hugo was extremely helpful. Having built teams from scratch in multiple companies before, Hugo could give me a very concrete idea of how the challenge changed as he transitioned from an individual contributor role to managing multiple teams and departments, and also how that can vary for different kinds of companies. Hugo was very open and candid in sharing, and I learnt a lot that I wouldn't have if I had just stuck to consuming other more easily available articles / podcasts etc. Hugo was also very easy to talk to. You can feel that he genuinely wants to help. I would highly recommend chatting with Hugo if you need advice about your product career!
