You can use the call to share what you are working on, what kind of support you are looking for, and where you feel stuck right now. It is also a chance to understand how the mentor typically works with mentees, what kind of guidance they can offer, and whether there is a strong mutual fit. The goal is to leave the conversation with more clarity on your next step and whether you want to continue working together.

As an Engineering Leader with 13+ years of experience building high-scale distributed systems at MAANG and big tech companies, I have mentored dozens of engineers through major career milestones. Mentorship is a significant commitment from both sides, so I use this 15-minute introductory call purely to gauge mutual fit. We will discuss your current bottlenecks-whether you need aggressive FAANG interview prep, deep-dive architectural coaching, or leadership guidance-and I will honestly assess if my expertise aligns with your timeline and goals.
I typically conduct these sessions on weekday morning and evenings and even on weekends , plus I am highly flexible and happy to coordinate a time that works across different time zones.
