About this session

An introductory call is a simple way to get to know a mentor before committing to ongoing mentorship. This session gives you the chance to ask questions, talk through your goals, and see whether the mentor’s background, communication style, and approach feel like the right fit for you. It is a low-pressure starting point designed to help you make a more confident decision.

You can use the call to share what you are working on, what kind of support you are looking for, and where you feel stuck right now. It is also a chance to understand how the mentor typically works with mentees, what kind of guidance they can offer, and whether there is a strong mutual fit. The goal is to leave the conversation with more clarity on your next step and whether you want to continue working together.

Your mentor

In this introductory call of about 15 mins, I will provide you with a preliminary overview of what you can expect from me as a mentor, specific to your unique personal situation. Do note that this call is NOT meant to be a detailed mentoring session (hence, introductory). We will get to understand what you are looking for from a mentor and how to make arrangements on MentorCruise.

Having taught close to 100,000 students worldwide VFX compositing and creation, I noticed that some students tend to prefer more 1-on-1 time with me. Of course, I cannot provide that to all 100,000 students hence, I am here as your personalized 1-on-1 mentor and would be more than happy to leverage my 6 years of experience working in the Hollywood film industry in seeing if my mentoring style meets your needs.

Introductory calls will be conducted over Discord. The call will be an opportunity for you to find out if I am the right mentor for you and to get a rough idea of your goals in a 1-on-1 mentorship.

How do I pick a time?

After checkout you pick a slot from Vicki's live availability, and it's confirmed on the spot.

How does the session take place?

Sessions happen over video call. Your mentor shares the meeting link ahead of time, so all you need is a quiet spot and a stable connection.

Can I reschedule?

Yes, up to 24 hours before the session. Message your mentor and find a new time that works for both of you.

What if my mentor doesn't show up?

You're protected. If a mentor is a no-show, it takes one click to cancel and get your money back, no questions asked.

How do refunds work?

You pay securely by card at checkout. If the session can't go ahead, you can cancel and get your money back instantly from your dashboard.
