About this session

An introductory call is a simple way to get to know a mentor before committing to ongoing mentorship. This session gives you the chance to ask questions, talk through your goals, and see whether the mentor’s background, communication style, and approach feel like the right fit for you. It is a low-pressure starting point designed to help you make a more confident decision.

You can use the call to share what you are working on, what kind of support you are looking for, and where you feel stuck right now. It is also a chance to understand how the mentor typically works with mentees, what kind of guidance they can offer, and whether there is a strong mutual fit. The goal is to leave the conversation with more clarity on your next step and whether you want to continue working together.

Your mentor

I offer career coaching, mentoring, job interview preparation (mock interviews), résumé reviews, and help with communication skills - verbal and written. We’ll use this introductory call to agree how I can use my expertise to help you in any of these areas.
I’ve acted as a business mentor and career coach for over 10 years, at first alongside my day-job in sales at Amazon, and more recently as an independent business coach. I love helping people to develop new skills and to advance their careers.
From 2012-2022 I worked for Amazon, both as a Hiring Manager and as a senior Amazon Bar Raiser, interviewing over 500 candidates, mentoring new Bar Raisers through their BR training, and delivering training sessions to hundreds of Amazon employees.
Alongside my coaching, I have 26 years’ sales experience as a Principal Account Manager and Sales Manager at big tech companies including Cisco, Microsoft and Amazon Web Services. I won many of AWS’s early, strategically important contracts with UK public sector organizations, delivering 955% revenue growth over 5 years from 2013 to 2018.
I left Amazon in 2022 and now work as a freelance coach and consultant.
You can find me on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/edwardwilliamjackson/. I'm based in the UK but I work with candidates worldwide. I'm flexible on timing, and can fit in with your time-zone and your work commitments.
