Why did I get myself into this scenario? š¤¦āāļø
This is the question I kept asking myself every time I felt uncomfortable.
Hi, Iām Jevgenija (many people know me as Jenny), I am Russian but was born in Lithuania. Currently living in the UK.
And I want to shareĀ lifeĀ changing experiences that formed my path šš¼
LessonsĀ learnt: I stillĀ believeĀ getting a degree was a waste of time and money.
LessonsĀ learnt: it was the best decision Iāve ever made thatĀ helped me toĀ learnĀ unconditional love and caring qualities.
LessonsĀ learnt: IĀ learnt how to hustle and donāt give up on myĀ dreams. It taught me a strong self-discipline and determination to succeed.
LessonsĀ learnt: it was the period I want to forget. But, I continued to hustle and opened myself up for self-discovery after my true identity was torn in small piecesā¦
I haveĀ changed many jobs š©š»āš¼, started with as little as Ā£16,000 a year and more than doubled my salary š in next 5 years, while also managed to negotiate flexible work arrangements (pre covid) to achieve better work/lifeĀ balance āļø.
I worked as a Business Support Officer starting in a local council. Then, I moved to a private sector working in technology as a Business Analyst and slowly climbing up the career ladder. I had my ups and downs, I wasnāt ready to settle for less (somewhat I knew my true worth and value).
But, I got fired, I changed jobs and moved places because I wanted to give more and add real difference, but I was told to āshut up and just do my job within hours Iām contracted toā. Boy how much I disagreed! And how much I tried to fightā¦but it was a pointless battle that I was always going to lose.Ā
LessonsĀ learnt: IĀ learnt how to negotiate and get what I want. I alsoĀ learnt pretty quickly that Iām not suited for being an employee, so I fired my boss in 2018.
During this period, Iāve done freelance and contract work, got qualified as a Prince2 Practitioner Project Manager.
Oh, and by the way this qualification didnāt really add much value to my career only the fact that it helped me to get more job interviews, but it wasnāt a defining point for employers at all.Ā
I also launched my online career coachingĀ businessĀ from scratch, without anyĀ support
š° or previous experience andā¦failed š, butĀ learnĀ t a very important truth about myself š.
I didnāt like doing cold calls selling my services on to people (very expensive services I must say) because:
1. I didnāt fully believe in my own programme I was selling
2. I didnāt know how to filter out serious people from time wasters
3. I spent too much energy into doing a website, polishing copy without really understanding my target audienceās pain points and desiresā¦
I had no clue what they wanted to accomplish with my programme if they were to buy it! Big mistake Jenny.Ā
LessonsĀ learnt: hustling continuesā¦
I lost my dad in 2018 and this year I welcomed my second son who was born day after my dadās birthday.
This was also the time when I started my entrepreneurial journey during covid-19, when most people were getting laid off. I just saw an opportunity and co-founded a company with my partner.
Lessons learnt: I learnt that I am a risk taker, but thanks to this experience, Iāve found my purpose in life which is aligned to my company mission.
2023 - soon launching our Potenic app which is fully bootstrapped (on a very tight budget using our own savings)
Over the years I invested over Ā£25,000 into my personal and professional growth, worked with numerous experts and mentors and generally compensated them for their experience, time and the help they've given me.
And right now I've invested another Ā£3,000 into a very intensive 2-months programme in one of the top online schools in Russian Federation. Why?
Because I wanted to mentor and consult others and help them reach their desired outcomes (obviously without expecting a magic pill).
How can I be of value?
I'm working with experts and entrepreneurs who are passionate to make this world a better place. You may have ideas and thoughts about wanting to create a product and launch it, but feeling slightly overwhelmed about what to do first and how you can make a significant difference.Ā
I will help you to structure and determine viability of your ideas and help you to create an actionable plan towards its realisation! I will analyse your experience, explore the details and give you a step-by-step framework to execute.Ā
I can also help you to unpackage your skills and experience and show you how to package it back into strong personal branding and...how to apply it on practice.
Did I also say that I can do business in two languages: Russian and English?
I always believe that anything is possible if you know the how and ready to take action, and I am here to help you with just that.Ā
