I lead the Search Quality team in DoorDash.
Before that, I was leading the whole page optimization team in Amazon Search. My career began as a research scientist at Fuji-Xerox Palo Alto Lab, and my interest in books led me to digitizing ebooks for Amazon, where I grew into a team leader. In 2011, I returned to Beijing to contribute to several startups, where I broadened my horizon to the intersection of tech and business. Eventually, my passion for machine learning led me to applying machine learning in recommendation systems at Hulu.
In 2018, I moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area to work on personalization at Facebook AI. During the covid period, I led the AI Foundation team in SmartNews to build foundation models for news recommendation.
I hold a bachelor’s degree from the Automation department of Tsinghua University and a PhD in Computer Vision from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
In my spare time, I enjoy practicing Tai Chi and meditation.
