I reached out to Hugo to learn more about what it is like to be in a product leader role so that I can better inform my career goals. Speaking to Hugo was extremely helpful. Having built teams from scratch in multiple companies before, Hugo could give me a very concrete idea of how the challenge changed as he transitioned from an individual contributor role to managing multiple teams and departments, and also how that can vary for different kinds of companies. Hugo was very open and candid in sharing, and I learnt a lot that I wouldn't have if I had just stuck to consuming other more easily available articles / podcasts etc. Hugo was also very easy to talk to.
